Jones Sign engineered, manufactured, and installed more than 3,500 signs for this world-class venue, including 14-foot tall programmable RGB channel letters spelling DAYTONA INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY.
Jones was initially awarded a contract for design-assist to a fixed price on this project. Soon thereafter, our scope was expanded to provide fast-track design-build services with projects designed and built to a mutually agreeable budget. Like many stadium projects, sponsors were signed very late in construction. This impacted our ability to advance production of certain signage elements until those sponsors were named.
In order to adhere to project deadlines, we worked closely with the construction manager to develop a process and a plan that worked with the agreed-upon timeframe. Our project coordinators supported our project managers and drove efficiencies in the areas of project tracking and communications.
Jones’ scope of work for this project included signage and specialty construction for the mile-long facility. Jones Sign was responsible for the iconic 14 ft tall DAYTONA INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY programmable RGB channel letters that extend longer than a football field, massive LED displays, thousands of square feet of graphics, wayfinding, custom specialty exhibits and illuminated elements for track sponsors.
