Jones Sign fabricated and installed the massive LED structure at Churchill Downs, the home of the Kentucky Derby. This project highlights Jones' steel structure and high-rise project coordination capabilities.
Jones was awarded the contract to fabricate and install a steel structure for a massive LED display at Churchill Downs. The installation required additional planning due to the location of the structure, which was right next to the historic stables and barns that house prize-winning horses. We could not touch the barns and had to install and maneuver around them.
This project included design and fabrication of the steel structure. Jones provided engineering, electrical specifications, project management, and installation. We utilized our high-rise installation practices to navigate the installation site without disrupting the horses in the barn area.
Churchill Downs now boasts a 171' by 90' 4k video board that starts 80' above ground and reaches 170' in overall height.
