Alamance Crossing - Burlington, NC
Alamance Crossing is a CBL & Associates new mall in Burlington, NC built along the Interstate. Jones was brought into the project to advise how to take best advantage of the great traffic pattern, not just for the mall but for it's anchor tenants. Jones changed existing designs to maximize the readability of tenant names from the Interstate in a way that was acceptable to the local authorities. Several of the major signs had to be located on severe grades and were a challenge to construct. Jones provided all exterior and interior signs, directories, wayfinding signs, benches, bollards, trash containers, street signs as well as installation services. Only 85 days passed from award to completion. The mall opened in 2007 and Jones is now engaged in signs for phase 2 of the mall.

The designer was DMRA of Los Angles. Of special interest was the permit work. Brandon is an upscale suburb of Tampa and Jones was told getting new signs permitted was impossible. It almost was. Charlotte Arena - Charlotte, NC
The Charlotte Arena is the new home of the NBA Bobcats, WNBA Sting as well as the NHL Charlotte Checkers. Jones Sign manufactured and installed all the interior and exterior signs, from the main identification 6’ lit letters right down to the names on the lockers and everything in between, including lit sponsorship signs, banners, aisle markers, outdoor directional signage, indoor wayfinding signs, concession stands and kiosks. Some of the unique features were the concession stands and ad kiosks of curved aluminum. This was super high end architectural interior signage. The job had an unbelievable time line – shop drawings approved in July, completion by September 15 – that taxed all our resources. The deadline was met. General Contractor was Hunt Construction of Dallas, signs were designed by Workshop Design of Kansas City, and the owner was the City of Charlotte, NC.

IPIC - Bayshore Mall - Milwaukee, WI
Bayshore Mall in a suburb of Milwaukee is among the least signed malls in the nation. Local codes allow virtually no signage, and past variance attempts have been unsuccessful. So when a major tenant opened an entertainment complex that included high end movie theatres, bowling and fine dining, they needed to come up with a visual cue to the entry that was not a sign. TK Architects of Kansas City came up with a massive free-form sail sculpture. Approvals from tenant, landlord, city and engineering took up most of the lead time, allowing Jones Sign just two weeks for fabrication and installation. The install was especially challenging as it was indoors on the second level of the mall. The sculpture had to be of steel to withstand interactive use. Moving weldments of over 1000 lbs. to the store entry without benefit of equipment took a combination of strength and ingenuity. An impossible deadline on a tough project was a challenge that Jones met, resulting in a successful opening for the complex.

Jones Building Expansion - De Pere, WI
Jones Sign Co. has begun a $7 million expansion in the Town of Lawrence that will double the size of its building and, eventually, its work force. The company is adding 105,338 square feet of manufacturing space to its 110,00-square-foot plant at U.S. 41 and Scheuring Road. Company President John Mortensen said employment eventually will reach about 300, double the current work force. The addition will allow increased manufacturing of custom lighted signs and in-house LED-sign assembly. It also will be used for grand-format digital printing operations. Mortensen said the new equipment will allow them to print signs 20 feet wide. They can print 4-foot widths now. The project is scheduled for completion by the end of December. Jones Sign also has manufacturing plants in Indiana, Georgia, Connecticut and Nevada.

Lakeline Mall - Austin, TX
As Jones Sign was completing all the sign work at the Lakeline Mall remodel in Austin, Texas, the General Contractor approached Jones with a problem. The architect had designed a modern art hanging sculpture piece for the center court that covered an area approximately 80’x 200’ and they could not find a sub to execute the design within budget. Jones took on the challenge, value engineered the design and completed the work in just 6 weeks. The entire ceiling had to be removed, bracing welded up to the rafters and the panels hung. The 3Form and perforated metal art does exactly what the design hoped it would do for the center court. Omniplan is the design firm. Simon Property is the mall owner. VCC is the General Contractor.
