First Colony Mall

Sugarland, TX - First Colony Mall is an older property in Sugarland, Texas a suburb of Houston. In 2005 a multi-phase project to update the mall was started. A food court, entries, signage, exterior lighting and landscaping were all changed or added. Jones manufactured and installed all the signs and directories. Of special note are the lighted Noguchi lanterns which served as pole covers for the support beams in the Food Court and the exterior courtyard. These were incredibly difficult to fabricate and had defeated two previous contractors. Jones succeeded. Jones worked directly for the mall owner, General Growth Properties. The designer was RTKL of Los Angeles. The project was completed in March 2007.
